This unconventional poster design explores the local band scene in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois, and its impact through visual storytelling. The images were taken at local shows, and the custom type was developed afterward. I felt that many of the existing typefaces couldn’t capture the high-energy nature of these shows, so I sketched each letter by hand using jagged and organic lines to reflect the energy and movement. The different panels loosely represent the range of musical styles found within the DIY scene. These panels were later connected in an interactive presentation by 12 individuals, emphasizing the collaborative and communal nature of the scene.

UNMATCHED.
