Typography Portrait

This self portrait was created as an exploration of typographic form and the principles of Gestalt. Using only letterforms (no symbols or numbers), I combined elements from two typefaces, Futura and Sabon, to build the features of the face. The geometric structure of Futura contrasts with the classic serifs of Sabon, which I used to add texture and depth, particularly in the beard area. Limiting myself to letterforms posed a unique design challenge and led to creative interpretations of facial features and form.
